What is the best way to treat a painful scar?

Hello, 10 months ago I had an anal fissure surgery. The wound took 8 months to close. Now I have a scar which unfortunately is VERY painful. My doctor is not very supportive so I'm doing my own research. What is the best way to treat it? I would very much appreciate any help. Thank you
